15-02-2007

Work for division of Cantonment into eight wards started in accordance with the instructions received from DG DE, dt. 14-02-2007.

26-03-2007

Draft plans showing the division of Pune Cantonment into eight wards was placed before the Board, and the Board vide its
Resolution No. 4, dated 26-03-2007 resolved to approve the draft plans of proposed eight wards along with the Schedule of Boundaries.

Advertisement given in newspapers calling for objections / suggestions on the draft plan of proposed wards.

Hearing of 6 objections/suggestion received on the draft plan of proposed wards held in the meeting dated 12-04-2007.
Board vide its Spl. CBR No. 1, dated 12-04-2007 resolved to give wide publicity through advertisement in newspapers and  notice boards at wards again calling for objections /
suggestions within fifteen days.

Draft Cantonment Electoral Rules 2007 was received from the DGDE office and accordingly public notice was given in local newspapers informing the public about these draft rules and objection/suggestion in this respect be submitted within sixty days to the Central Government who will be hearing the same.

Office Order No. 26/07 dated 07-05-2007 – modifying the earlier Office Order No. 19-A/07 dated 27-04-2007, appointing supervisors and enumerator staff and giving instructions regarding the work . Work to be completed by 31-05-2007.

Circular dated 07-05-2007 calling for a meeting of supervisors and enumerator staff.

12 Objections / Suggestions received heard in the meeting dated 07-05-2007, and Board vide Special Resolution No. 1, dt. 07-05-2007 resolved to dispose off the objections and further resolved to approve the draft plan as final regarding division of Cantonment into eight wards.
 
The Board had noted the same vide its Special Resolution No. 3, dated 07-05-2007.

Proposal sent to GOC-in-C, SC along with all enclosures of existing and proposed wardwise plans and its schedules as per checklist given by DG DE in their letter dated 14-02-2007, for their examination and forwarding the same for the approval by the Ministry of Defence and notification in the Official Gazette. .

DG DE letter dated 22-05-2007 asking the preparedness of Cantonment Board Pune, to hold elections and send programme. Accordingly a draft election programme was prepared subject to approval by the Board to the DG DE, New Delhi for its perusal and asking for clarifications regarding electoral roll, conduct of elections as per which rules and approval of division of wards and reservation of wards for SC/ST & Women.

All the forms received up to 08-06-2007 through enumerators and through dispatch were considered for data entry.
All forms of respective wards were arranged part wise and house wise as per the Ward Summary.

01-07-2007

Preliminary Electoral Roll 2007 published. Newspaper advertisement published on 01-07-2007 for the information of general public that the Preliminary Electoral Roll 2007 is ready and they may put in their claims and objections by 31-07-2007. Copies of the same were placed in the office for inspection of the public.

09-07-2007

Office Order No. 108/07 dated 09-07-2007 – asking enumerators to survey the area entrusted to them for missing voters. Supervisors were stationed at schools/Cantt. Fund buildings in the respective ward with a copy of the preliminary electoral roll. This work was completed on 20-07-2007.

21-07-2007 to 31-07-2007

Preparation of list of claims and objections received. Published a list of claims and objections on 23-07-2007 and kept for inspection of the public in the office up to 31-07-2007. Public notice to this effect pasted on notice boards of schools / dispensary of respective ward.

Hearing of claims and objections received on the Preliminary Electoral Rolls by the President, Cantonment Board, Pune. Claims perused and verified and decided to include all claims and objections heard and found valid and the concerned names were deleted.

The Cantonment Electoral Rules (CER) 2007 notified by the Central Government in the Official Gazette vide SRO 5(E) dated 21-08-2007.

Directions from DG DE, New Delhi, to undertake exercise of division of Cantonment into wards and reservation for SC/STs in terms of notified Cantonment Electoral Rules, 2007 and preparing draft plan afresh by considering and ensuring that the ward boundaries be so aligned that the individual blocks in existing wards (created for the purpose of Census 2001) fall completely within the proposed wards and do not get divided between different wards.

Hearing of 10 objections/suggestion received on the draft plan of proposed wards held in the meeting dated 21-09-2007. Board vide its Spl. CBR No. 1, dated 21-09-2007 resolved to approve the draft plans which be treated as final after disposing off all the objections.

Proposal sent to PD DE, SC, Pune-1, for division of Pune Cantonment into eight wards and reservation of SC/ST along with all enclosures of existing and proposed wardwise plans and its schedules, reservation of SC Ward, Draft Gazette notification as required by DG DE in their letter dated 22-08-2007, for their examination and forwarding the same for the approval by the Ministry of Defence and notification in the Official Gazette. .

The division of Pune Cantonment into eight wards and reservation of Ward No. IV for SC notified by Government in the Official Gazette vide SRO No. 07 E dated 13-11-2007, as conveyed by DG DE, New Delhi in their letter dated 13-11-2007.

DG DE, New Delhi, letter dated 13-11-2007 directing the Cantonment to prepare and finally public the Electoral Rolls by 03-01-2008 and also to ensure that the proposals for notification of wards to be reserved for women in the Official Gazette reach their office by 04-12-2007.
 

Public Notice issued informing the public that the draw of lots for reservation of seats for women in Pune Cantonment will be held in the Office of the Cantonment Board, Pune on 27-11-2007 at 1600 hours in the presence of the member of the Board and the general public who wish to witness the proceedings, by President Cantonment Board, Pune.

Public notice to file claims and objections on the Preliminary Electoral Rolls as per CER 2007, issued , stating that the claims and objections in the prescribed forms as per CER 2007 be presented to the Chief Executive Officer of Pune Cantonment Board so as to reach him within twenty days of issue of notice. Public notice pasted on notice boards in the respective eight wards.

Draw of lots carried out by President, Cantonment Board, Pune in presence of members of the Board and general public who witnessed the proceedings along with a live coverage of the proceedings in the Board room through CCTV on large TV screen placed at the ground floor of the building for the public, and accordingly Ward Nos. VI, II and V were declared reserved for women.

Proposal sent to GOC-in-C, SC, Pune regarding reservation of seats for women as per DG DE, New Delhi letter dated 13-11-2007, alongwith all enclosures and Draft Gazette Notification, for their examination and forwarding the same for the approval by the Ministry of Defence and notification in the Official Gazette.

Publication of list of claims and objections and time and place of their hearing was issued through a public notice which was pasted on notice boards in the respective eight wards. Hearing of claims and objections will be held on 21-12-2007 and 22-12-2007 at 1100 hours.
