Inpatient Marijuana Rehab Centers Burlingame CA 94010: Tips to find the most adequate centers in the US

Marijuana is considered to be the most illicit drug used in the United States of America, according to National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). NIDA also reported that approximately 9 per cent of people who regularly abuse marijuana will gradually get addicted to the drug. Teenagers are very much prone to Marijuana addiction. In teens the risk of addiction rises to 17 percent and it rises to 25-50 percent for those who abuse marijuana regularly. That is important when it comes to finding the best Marijuana Addiction Rehab Centers.

The US Department of Health and Human Services states that one in every 11 marijuana users will become addicted.

Marijuana consists of THC, which is a mind altering ingredient. When one abuses marijuana, the THC enters the bloodstream and targets the brain. Certain brain cells that influence memory, coordination, thought process, sensory perception are targeted.

According to the Office of Alcohol and Drug Education, “addiction is likely both physical and psychological. When physically addicted, your body craves the drug. When psychologically addicted, you consciously desire the drug’s effects.’’

Symptoms of marijuana addiction are similar to any other drug addiction.

They are:

  • Irritability
  • Restlessness
  • Deep craving for marijuana which can even disturb their sleep
  • Tolerance for the drug
  • Disengagement from friends and family
  • Withdrawal symptoms

Who requires a treatment?

People who get enrolled in marijuana treatment programs have been using the drug for at least 10 years and it could be possible that they must have tried to quit using the drug several times.

It is reported that in the year 2010 about 353,000 people were admitted to treatment centers. Latest reports from January 2014 to January 2015 shows that the treatment centers received 3, 572 calls for synthetic marijuana and there were also reports of 15 deaths related to marijuana addiction. How is marijuana addiction treated?

The most common treatment of marijuana addiction is therapy.

An analysis in the journal Addiction Science and Clinical Practice says, “Therapy can also provide problem-solving skills and lifestyle management, so people can learn how to build a satisfying life that doesn’t need augmentation with drugs. As a relapse skill, therapists might also provide lessons on drug refusal, so people know just what to say and how to react when they’re offered a hit of weed.”

Treatment for addiction may also include counseling which will help the person to cope with other coexisting addictions and psychiatric problems too. That is really important when it comes to Inpatient Marijuana Rehab Centers Burlingame CA 94010.

Create injunctions. An injunction is something that you put in place to prevent you from relapsing. For instance, you could talk with your local liquor store and tell them not to sell you any liquor, even if you ask for it. Perhaps you drive by a grocery store where you purchase your liquor every day. An injunction would be creating and following a different route. You could even write yourself a note and put it on your door every day for when you leave the home. Whatever it is, an injunction is something that you put in place to prevent you from relapsing. It’s simply one extra barrier that you need to overcome if you are feeling weak.

Find new places to hang out. Look for new coffee shops, bookstores, movie theaters and restaurants that are interesting rather than haunting the same places you used to go when you were high.

Seek outside support. Family and friends of those with opiate addiction should seek outside support from qualified professionals, such as therapists, or support groups like Al-Anon. These individuals and organizations can offer guidance for people in emotionally volatile circumstances. When these support pillars are in place, family and friends are less likely to return to negative enabling. I am often shocked at the rate of behavioral relapse in family and friends of opiate addicts. There are times when family assures me they will no longer provide money or shelter to an opiate addict, and a few months later, they return to “old behavior.” This form of relapse bears remarkable similarities to opiate addict’s relapse. Family and friends who work with qualified professionals and support groups have a better chance of staying the course when it comes to refusing to participate in negative enabling.

Get a Good Diet. If you were like most people who have spent years drinking or using drugs, you likely did not have the best diet during that time. It’s true that you are what you eat, and your body may now be showing the signs of a long period of malnutrition. Cut out junk food from your diet, keep sugar and unhealthy fats to a minimum, and load up on fresh vegetables and fruits, fish and lean meats. Drink plenty of water, and avoid having too much coffee. The change won’t happen overnight, but with time your tastes will change, you will start craving healthy food rather than junk, and you will begin to notice remarkable changes in your energy level, appearance, immunity and overall health.

Be willing to get better. Be willing to make changes in your life and within yourself. Sometimes you have to renegotiate this moment by moment. But a sustained willingness leads to sustained recovery.

Continue Counseling- the best thing that you could do for yourself is to continue counseling outside of the addiction center. Your therapists and counselors will be the main ones to keep you right on track in your recovery efforts!

Follow the rules (even if you don’t like them). It can be tough for an addict to follow the rules. But this is a great place to learn how to manage your own behavior and maintain good relationships with people around you. Your rehab experience will be much more positive if you’re not causing problems for other people.

Surround yourself with positive people. Think how badly you feel when you’re in the presence of someone who’s constantly harping about how awful things are, or who always puts down others’ efforts or ideas. Now think about how much better you feel when you’re with people who are excited and enthusiastic about life, tackling challenges and turning them into opportunities, sharing what techniques and tips they’ve had success with, and, in general, are caring, supportive and encouraging. While we can’t choose our families and some of our friends and acquaintances may not exactly fall into the category of positive people, we can choose to make new friends and spend time with people who are more upbeat and optimistic about life. By surrounding ourselves with positive people, we are lifted and encouraged by their example and their contagious good-will. Like-minded people make us feel better because we share goals and ideas. This is another plus when you’re trying to improve your self-esteem after drug rehab.

Listen to the suggestions from us. We specialize in teaching alcoholics how to live without alcohol. We have vast amount of knowledge and guidance based upon what has worked for clients and what has not worked. Be mindful of what we say and take it to heart. We want you to stay clean after leaving treatment, and we offer tangible, good advice.

Love for the opiate addict usually blinds those close to him/her. Traditional forms of compassion, care and concern become liabilities. I see many cases where family continues to provide shelter, food and money to an active opiate addict. These behaviors enable an opiate addict to continue down a path of self-destruction.

reatment to undergo that will eradicate or control it. These diseases are capable of causing death, and so is addiction. There is no cure and no guarantee of complete recovery. A cancer patient may find years of remission, a diabetic may live a relatively normal life. There is no medical treatment that can control the disease of addiction. Medications and treatment can help, but it’s like a war with many battles, there may be a “cease fire” but you have to always be on guard and ready to fight for victory.

Remember that mistakes and failures happen. Everyone makes mistakes and each person moves through recovery at their own pace. There will be set backs but they aren’t the end of the world. Each day presents a new opportunity to learn.

Get rid of the bowl. Or the bong. Or the rolling papers that you still have lying around. If you don’t have the paraphernalia to get high, it’ll make it more difficult for you to relapse.

Change your friends – some of your friends may have been enabling your addiction instead of helping you control it. If you have friends that may jeopardize your recovery, it is time to find a new circle of friends. The right friends will help you to maintain a healthy recovery.
