Inpatient Marijuana Rehab Centers Salinas CA 93902: Tips to find the most adequate centers in the US
Marijuana is considered to be the most illicit drug used in the United States of America, according to National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). NIDA also reported that approximately 9 per cent of people who regularly abuse marijuana will gradually get addicted to the drug. Teenagers are very much prone to Marijuana addiction. In teens the risk of addiction rises to 17 percent and it rises to 25-50 percent for those who abuse marijuana regularly. That is important when it comes to finding the best Marijuana Addiction Rehab Centers.
The US Department of Health and Human Services states that one in every 11 marijuana users will become addicted.
Marijuana consists of THC, which is a mind altering ingredient. When one abuses marijuana, the THC enters the bloodstream and targets the brain. Certain brain cells that influence memory, coordination, thought process, sensory perception are targeted.
According to the Office of Alcohol and Drug Education, “addiction is likely both physical and psychological. When physically addicted, your body craves the drug. When psychologically addicted, you consciously desire the drug’s effects.’’
Symptoms of marijuana addiction are similar to any other drug addiction.
- Deep craving for marijuana which can even disturb their sleep
- Tolerance for the drug
- Disengagement from friends and family
- Withdrawal symptoms
Who requires a treatment?
People who get enrolled in marijuana treatment programs have been using the drug for at least 10 years and it could be possible that they must have tried to quit using the drug several times.
It is reported that in the year 2010 about 353,000 people were admitted to treatment centers. Latest reports from January 2014 to January 2015 shows that the treatment centers received 3, 572 calls for synthetic marijuana and there were also reports of 15 deaths related to marijuana addiction. How is marijuana addiction treated?
The most common treatment of marijuana addiction is therapy.
An analysis in the journal Addiction Science and Clinical Practice says, “Therapy can also provide problem-solving skills and lifestyle management, so people can learn how to build a satisfying life that doesn’t need augmentation with drugs. As a relapse skill, therapists might also provide lessons on drug refusal, so people know just what to say and how to react when they’re offered a hit of weed.”
Treatment for addiction may also include counseling which will help the person to cope with other coexisting addictions and psychiatric problems too. That is really important when it comes to Inpatient Marijuana Rehab Centers Salinas CA 93902.

Distortions and filtering should be eliminated. While we’re on the subject of negative thinking and negativity, consider how your view of situations and people is distorted and filtered if you engage in this practice. When you make a mistake, perhaps on a work project or something at home, you may have a tendency to think that everyone knows about it and blames you for it. Maybe you’ll even extend this line of thinking to the belief that others will think you’re not up to the job or task. Instead of dwelling on your mistake or error, get busy remedying the situation. Take action. Don’t sit around mulling over all the possible negative outcomes. Own up to what’s happened and work on a positive solution. This will eliminate the self-perpetuating cycle of negativity and help boost your self-esteem in the process.
Go to a 12-step meeting. There’s nothing like surrounding yourself with positive people who are also interested in staying clean and sober when you feel like getting high.
Predict Your Weak Spots. When I quit smoking, it was helpful to identify the danger zones–those times I most enjoying firing up lung rockets: in the morning with my java, in the afternoon with my java, in the car (if you’ve been my passenger you know why), and in the evening with my java and a Twix bar. I jotted these times down in my “dysfunction journal” with suggestions of activities to replace the smokes: In the morning I began eating eggs and grapefruit, which don’t blend well with cigs. I bought a tape to listen to in the car. An afternoon walk replaced the 3:00 smoke break. And I tried to read at night, which didn’t happen (eating chocolate is more soothing).
Strongly consider consulting with an experienced intervention specialist. These professionals can help you better understand the intervention process and set up suitable treatment for an alcoholic.
Delay Alcohol Use – Research shows that alcoholism is more prevalent among those who begin drinking at an early age. Delaying alcohol use until age 21 or later may reduce the risk of alcohol-related problems in adulthood.
Create a “first aid kit”. Get a small container and put some meaningful items in that container. These items should be representative of things that keep you grounded and stable. Put whatever you like in the container. It’s purpose is to remind you of life without alcohol and why you entered recovery in the first place. During your withdrawal, you will often feel like it’s not worth the pain. Your first aid kit will help you stay grounded and determined to succeed.
The new wave of support – blogging communities. What has helped me the most is a blogging community of other parents. It developed spontaneously and is nothing “official”, we are a group of parents who randomly found each other via blogs. I’ve learned more from them, and gained more support from them, than any other source. We may not always agree with each other, but hearing their stories and words of wisdom has been invaluable. Please feel free to visit my blog, Recovery Happens, and join in the conversation there. (I have a list of blogs that will connect you with this great group of people from all over the country.) You need to take care of yourself during this time; your own heath and well being are at stake.
Remember Time! – After you have gotten out of the addiction and recovery center you may be frustrated with the thoughts of alcohol or drugs that are plaguing your mind. However, you must remember that recovery is a process that takes time and there is nothing you can do to speed up the process of time, no matter how dismal or depressing that thought seems!
Listen to the suggestions from us. We specialize in teaching alcoholics how to live without alcohol. We have vast amount of knowledge and guidance based upon what has worked for clients and what has not worked. Be mindful of what we say and take it to heart. We want you to stay clean after leaving treatment, and we offer tangible, good advice.
Always follow through with ultimatums and consequences that you established at the end of the intervention. For instance, if you told the alcoholic that you would no longer support him or her financially, then don’t. It’ll most likely be difficult to see your loved one hurting, but it may be the only way that they’ll realize that they need to quit drinking.
Bring a Journal. Marijuana rehab is a huge time for you. You are completely changing your life, its direction, your purpose, how you think about and do everything. Even if it’s a basic spiral notebook and blue ink pen, keeping a journal will help you work through some of the (often conflicting) thoughts and feelings you will experience during addiction treatment.
Rational Thinking – We’ve all heard the term “Stinking Thinking.” Challenge your thoughts when an urge arises and ask yourself, “Is this really what I want to do?” “Do I want to wake up hung over, ashamed, feeling guilty and riddled with anxiety?” Thoughts like “There is no way I can fight this” or “I might as well have a drink and get it over with” are counterproductive. These thoughts need to be examined and stopped immediately. If a situation is causing you to want to drink, examine your thoughts. For example, you’re having a bad day at work and the boss just reamed you out. Instead of rushing off to the local pub, analyze the conversation and pull out nuggets of information that you can improve on to better perform at work.
Attitude Isn’t Everything. Just because you don’t want to go, it doesn’t mean that marijuana rehab won’t work for you. Most people aren’t looking forward to heading off to drug and alcohol treatment, but studies show that you don’t have to start out wanting treatment to benefit from that treatment.
Sweat. Working out is technically an addiction for me (according to some lame article I read), and I guess I do have to be careful with it since I have a history of an eating disorder (who doesn’t?). But there is no depression buster as effective for me than exercise. An aerobic workout not only provides an antidepressant effect, but you look pretty stupid lighting up after a run (trust me, I used to do it all the time and the stares weren’t friendly) or pounding a few beers before the gym. I don’t know if it’s the endorphins or what, but I just think–even pray–much better and feel better with sweat dripping down my face.
Methadone is the first step of treatment for many addicts. It gives them the chance to get off the drugs without having withdrawal symptoms so extreme that they can barely function. For serious addicts, these withdrawal symptoms can last for months, even longer. For some people, they will feel urges for the rest of their life. It is definitely not easy to overcome a drug addiction, but this is a necessary process for someone hooked on drugs who wants to get clean. Methadone can help you get your life back, so if this is something you’re interested in, you should talk to your doctor to get more details. They will be able to provide you with the necessary information and get you a prescription if you are thought to be a good candidate for the drug.
