Inpatient Marijuana Rehab Centers San Diego CA 92191: Tips to find the most adequate centers in the US

Marijuana is considered to be the most illicit drug used in the United States of America, according to National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). NIDA also reported that approximately 9 per cent of people who regularly abuse marijuana will gradually get addicted to the drug. Teenagers are very much prone to Marijuana addiction. In teens the risk of addiction rises to 17 percent and it rises to 25-50 percent for those who abuse marijuana regularly. That is important when it comes to finding the best Marijuana Addiction Rehab Centers.

The US Department of Health and Human Services states that one in every 11 marijuana users will become addicted.

Marijuana consists of THC, which is a mind altering ingredient. When one abuses marijuana, the THC enters the bloodstream and targets the brain. Certain brain cells that influence memory, coordination, thought process, sensory perception are targeted.

According to the Office of Alcohol and Drug Education, “addiction is likely both physical and psychological. When physically addicted, your body craves the drug. When psychologically addicted, you consciously desire the drug’s effects.’’

Symptoms of marijuana addiction are similar to any other drug addiction.

They are:

  • Irritability
  • Restlessness
  • Deep craving for marijuana which can even disturb their sleep
  • Tolerance for the drug
  • Disengagement from friends and family
  • Withdrawal symptoms

Who requires a treatment?

People who get enrolled in marijuana treatment programs have been using the drug for at least 10 years and it could be possible that they must have tried to quit using the drug several times.

It is reported that in the year 2010 about 353,000 people were admitted to treatment centers. Latest reports from January 2014 to January 2015 shows that the treatment centers received 3, 572 calls for synthetic marijuana and there were also reports of 15 deaths related to marijuana addiction. How is marijuana addiction treated?

The most common treatment of marijuana addiction is therapy.

An analysis in the journal Addiction Science and Clinical Practice says, “Therapy can also provide problem-solving skills and lifestyle management, so people can learn how to build a satisfying life that doesn’t need augmentation with drugs. As a relapse skill, therapists might also provide lessons on drug refusal, so people know just what to say and how to react when they’re offered a hit of weed.”

Treatment for addiction may also include counseling which will help the person to cope with other coexisting addictions and psychiatric problems too. That is really important when it comes to Inpatient Marijuana Rehab Centers San Diego CA 92191.

Focus on what you are. Forget about the shackles of the past. Do not dwell on you addictive past, but relish on what you have and celebrate on what you are. And what you are is a dynamic person capable of living life to the fullest and to the best of your capabilities.

The most important thing is that after you go through treatment, once you have gotten yourself on the right track and aren’t using anymore, that you do whatever it takes to stay off the drugs. The last thing you want is to end up back in the same situation you started, having to start all over from square one. Go through a support group or have regular sessions with a therapist, to have someone there to talk to and support you during this difficult time in your life. It always helps to have someone there who you can feel safe venting to, expressing your feelings and getting support from when you’re not feeling at your strongest.

After Rehab. Even once an addict is sober, they are still in recovery. Know what their triggers are and do activities where their triggers are easily avoidable. No matter how long you’ve known this person, or how well you think you know them, they might not be the same person once they recover. Don’t hold on to who they used to be. Embrace them for who they are now.

Methadone is the first step of treatment for many addicts. It gives them the chance to get off the drugs without having withdrawal symptoms so extreme that they can barely function. For serious addicts, these withdrawal symptoms can last for months, even longer. For some people, they will feel urges for the rest of their life. It is definitely not easy to overcome a drug addiction, but this is a necessary process for someone hooked on drugs who wants to get clean. Methadone can help you get your life back, so if this is something you’re interested in, you should talk to your doctor to get more details. They will be able to provide you with the necessary information and get you a prescription if you are thought to be a good candidate for the drug.

Be the Expert. The quickest way you learn material is by being forced to teach it. I adamantly believe that you have to fake it ’til you make it. And I always feel less depressed after I have helped someone who is struggling with sadness. It’s the twelfth step of the twelve-step program, and a cornerstone of recovery. Give and you shall receive. The best thing I can do for my brain is to find a person in greater pain than myself and to offer her my hand. If she takes it, I’m inspired to stand strong, so I can pull her out of her funk. And in that process, I am often pulled out of mine.

Take care of yourself. There are many things that can trigger a craving. Being hungry, angry, lonely or tired can induce a craving that you might not be expecting. Taking care of your body and soul will help preempt risks. Eating right, getting enough sleep and keeping a list of clean, trusted friends can help you take care of yourself.

Exercise. Exercise releases chemicals called endorphins that interact with the receptors in the brain and reduce the perception of pain. Ironically, endorphins also trigger a “natural high” in the body, similar to morphine. The pain I endured the last time I kicked heroin was horrific. If I did not exercise daily, I would not have made it.

If you are in school, go and speak to your advisor. There are most likely other students that have been to treatment, and getting in touch with these students can help you to meet new, clean peers. Your old friends maybe still using and you do not want to be around people like that. Making new friends will help you to discover a new and clean life.

Do Not Enable Them. It’s only natural to want to help our loved ones, but an addict can take advantage of that. It’s so tempting to help them out if they are behind on rent or need groceries. All you are doing is allowing them to spend their own money on their addiction. Also, to the extent that it’s possible, don’t interact with them when they are drunk or high. Spending time with an addict when they aren’t sober sends the message that you think their behavior is okay, or at the very least, aren’t bothered by it.

Listen to the suggestions from us. We specialize in teaching alcoholics how to live without alcohol. We have vast amount of knowledge and guidance based upon what has worked for clients and what has not worked. Be mindful of what we say and take it to heart. We want you to stay clean after leaving treatment, and we offer tangible, good advice.

Education. The dangers of alcohol abuse are not always readily apparent to those who haven’t been educated on the subject. It’s legal, right? It’s available everywhere, right? How bad could it be? That’s the thinking of many on the subject and, as a result, many abuse alcohol without recognizing the risks and consequences.

Be kind to yourself. In the past, you’ve likely beaten yourself up over misdeeds you’ve committed under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but it’s important to realize that those feelings are perfectly normal and happen to almost everyone in early recovery. It’s OK if you don’t succeed at the first try in everything you attempt.

Pay attention to their “cycle”. The most important thing to know is that heroin is highly addictive and creates a physical dependence. In other words, when using becomes habitual, the body needs more and more of the drug to get high and at some point its needed just to feel “normal”. An addict who does not get his daily dose of opiates will begin to suffer “dope sickness” which causes pain in the muscles, “crawling skin”, vomiting, diarrhea, insomnia, sweats, and more. I’ve seen my son suffer through this several times and it’s torturous. Addicts avoid dope sickness at all costs and become desperate to get their hands on more heroin to keep themselves from getting sick. This is often when illegal or immoral activities come into play.

Start Exercising. How often did you work out while you were drinking or using drugs? You may be sober now, but are you healthy? Getting into a regular exercise routine can make a world of difference in improving your energy levels, your sense of well-being, and your feeling of self-confidence. Whether you take up running or cycling, start going to the gym, or join a team, you can take things to a whole other level by getting into shape. An added benefit of this is that exercising will tend to put you in the company of other people who are dedicated to living healthy lifestyles, which will help to support you in your new life.

Talk to your family. Open communication with family, is an effective way of ensuring that you make healthy choices after treatment. Let your family know how you are feeling. Maybe you are bored or lonely or stressed. All feelings, including the good ones, can trigger a relapse. By talking with your family, you are not only developing this relationship but with support from them, you will make sound, healthier decisions.
