Inpatient Marijuana Rehab Centers San Jose CA 95108: Tips to find the most adequate centers in the US
Marijuana is considered to be the most illicit drug used in the United States of America, according to National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). NIDA also reported that approximately 9 per cent of people who regularly abuse marijuana will gradually get addicted to the drug. Teenagers are very much prone to Marijuana addiction. In teens the risk of addiction rises to 17 percent and it rises to 25-50 percent for those who abuse marijuana regularly. That is important when it comes to finding the best Marijuana Addiction Rehab Centers.
The US Department of Health and Human Services states that one in every 11 marijuana users will become addicted.
Marijuana consists of THC, which is a mind altering ingredient. When one abuses marijuana, the THC enters the bloodstream and targets the brain. Certain brain cells that influence memory, coordination, thought process, sensory perception are targeted.
According to the Office of Alcohol and Drug Education, “addiction is likely both physical and psychological. When physically addicted, your body craves the drug. When psychologically addicted, you consciously desire the drug’s effects.’’
Symptoms of marijuana addiction are similar to any other drug addiction.
- Deep craving for marijuana which can even disturb their sleep
- Tolerance for the drug
- Disengagement from friends and family
- Withdrawal symptoms
Who requires a treatment?
People who get enrolled in marijuana treatment programs have been using the drug for at least 10 years and it could be possible that they must have tried to quit using the drug several times.
It is reported that in the year 2010 about 353,000 people were admitted to treatment centers. Latest reports from January 2014 to January 2015 shows that the treatment centers received 3, 572 calls for synthetic marijuana and there were also reports of 15 deaths related to marijuana addiction. How is marijuana addiction treated?
The most common treatment of marijuana addiction is therapy.
An analysis in the journal Addiction Science and Clinical Practice says, “Therapy can also provide problem-solving skills and lifestyle management, so people can learn how to build a satisfying life that doesn’t need augmentation with drugs. As a relapse skill, therapists might also provide lessons on drug refusal, so people know just what to say and how to react when they’re offered a hit of weed.”
Treatment for addiction may also include counseling which will help the person to cope with other coexisting addictions and psychiatric problems too. That is really important when it comes to Inpatient Marijuana Rehab Centers San Jose CA 95108.

I recommend at least attempting to have a heart-to-heart talk with them to see if you can reason with them. Do not put them down, do not attack them, and do not yell at them. These attempts are futile and ultimately will lead to a fight. However, don’t be hard on yourself if this does not work because of reason number one.
Accept others lack of Empathy for Addiction in general. This seems harsh, but when the disease is addiction, there is very little sympathy or support. There are races for the cure for cancer, fundraisers, tons of research being done. But addict’s lives are affected at the core level of their being and they are often treated like common criminals and shunned by society. It’s easy to say “Well, they asked for it” until it happens to your sweet young daughter or loveable son, who up to this point, was the joy of your life. The disease of addictions has serious side effects such as felony records, loss of jobs, destruction of relationships and of course, all the self loathing, guilt and regret that come with it.
Work or donate some of your time – being productive at your job or giving back to a cause you believe it will do wonders for your self-esteem. Making a positive contribution at work or for others will give you a wonderful sense of accomplishment and pride.
Follow your relapse prevention training. You worked very hard on this while you were in treatment and you have mentally prepared for many different situations that might lead to relapse. Use your new knowledge diligently the first year, and you will find that it will help you out of many situations. Former alcoholics who ignore the new knowledge and skills and ignore the triggers and situations that may bring about relapse are asking for trouble. Your knowledge of Relapse Awareness is an important key to recovery, and it should be followed explicitly.
Exercise. While you may not feel like it, an appropriate amount of exercise is one of the best tools for coping with alcohol withdrawals. Exercise releases endorphins into your brain creating natural happy feelings within a person. Plus, you will begin to feel stronger and more powerful as you work out. It’s good for your self confidence and for your recovery.
Be Accountable to Someone. In the professional world, what is the strongest motivator for peak performance? Twelve-step groups use this method–called accountability–to keep people sober and on the recovery wagon. Everyone has a sponsor, a mentor to teach them the program, to guide them toward physical, mental, and spiritual health. Today several people together serve as my emotional “sponsor,” keeping me accountable for my actions: Mike (my writing mentor), my therapist, my doctor, Fr. Dave, Deacon Moore, Eric, and my mom. Having these folks around to divulge my misdeeds to is like confession–it keeps the list of sins from getting too long.
Create injunctions. An injunction is something that you put in place to prevent you from relapsing. For instance, you could talk with your local liquor store and tell them not to sell you any liquor, even if you ask for it. Perhaps you drive by a grocery store where you purchase your liquor every day. An injunction would be creating and following a different route. You could even write yourself a note and put it on your door every day for when you leave the home. Whatever it is, an injunction is something that you put in place to prevent you from relapsing. It’s simply one extra barrier that you need to overcome if you are feeling weak.
Remember the pain is only temporary. One thing to remember is that the pain is only temporary. It will go away. It won’t last forever. This can be an impacting mental tool for you when the physical pain of withdrawal is at its most severe.
Read a book. When was the last time you actually read a book? Books can offer a fantastic escape and can help distract you if you are feeling the urge to relapse. Like taking a walk or listening to music, book reading is another distraction technique. Pick up a book purely for pleasure. What have you always wanted to read? What sounds like fun to read?
Be ready with information and a reservation at an alcohol treatment facility. After an intervention, there’s a good chance that an alcoholic will be ready to immediately begin treatment.
Strengths, best qualities and sharing them. Again, studies show that happiness is strongly linked to a certain type of self-knowledge—not self-criticism. While it is all too common to be your own harshest critic, being able to identify and use your best qualities—your strengths and virtues—is an important skill that happy people seem to master.
Understand that addiction is a “family disease”. Another characteristic of addiction that makes it so devastating is that it affects everyone in its path. It’s like a tornado – if you are close to it, it can hurt you in some way, if you are in the middle of it, it has the potential to rip you apart. My son and I have always been close. He was a good kid, never got in trouble, was open and honest and trustworthy. When heroin became his main reason for living (as it does for all heroin addicts) he was unrecognizable to me. Unlike meth addicts – he looked the same on the outside – but on the inside I didn’t know this person. He stole from me, he lied constantly, he was violent and mean. Worry was my constant companion. Every time the phone rang my heart leapt wondering if it was the police – or the morgue. Life has never been the same. I felt that I was suffering more that he was! This is why getting support is critical; you should not try to brave it out alone. It’s nothing to be ashamed of and by reaching out you’ll see that you are not alone and most importantly – it’s not your fault.
Traditional support. Thousands have found support through Al-Anon or Nar-Anon. Although Al-Anon focuses on families of alcoholics, the principals are the same. Many of my friends have learned to cope with addiction in their families as a result of Al-Anon. What has helped me the most is a blogging community of other parents. It developed spontaneously and is nothing “official”, we are a group of parents who randomly found each other via blogs. I’ve learned more from them, and gained more support from them, than any other source. We may not always agree with each other, but hearing their stories and words of wisdom has been invaluable. Please feel free to visit my blog, Recovery Happens, and join in the conversation there. (I have a list of blogs that will connect you with this great group of people from all over the country.) You need to take care of yourself during this time; your own heath and well being are at stake.
