Inpatient Marijuana Rehab Centers Santee CA 92072: Tips to find the most adequate centers in the US

Marijuana is considered to be the most illicit drug used in the United States of America, according to National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). NIDA also reported that approximately 9 per cent of people who regularly abuse marijuana will gradually get addicted to the drug. Teenagers are very much prone to Marijuana addiction. In teens the risk of addiction rises to 17 percent and it rises to 25-50 percent for those who abuse marijuana regularly. That is important when it comes to finding the best Marijuana Addiction Rehab Centers.

The US Department of Health and Human Services states that one in every 11 marijuana users will become addicted.

Marijuana consists of THC, which is a mind altering ingredient. When one abuses marijuana, the THC enters the bloodstream and targets the brain. Certain brain cells that influence memory, coordination, thought process, sensory perception are targeted.

According to the Office of Alcohol and Drug Education, “addiction is likely both physical and psychological. When physically addicted, your body craves the drug. When psychologically addicted, you consciously desire the drug’s effects.’’

Symptoms of marijuana addiction are similar to any other drug addiction.

They are:

  • Irritability
  • Restlessness
  • Deep craving for marijuana which can even disturb their sleep
  • Tolerance for the drug
  • Disengagement from friends and family
  • Withdrawal symptoms

Who requires a treatment?

People who get enrolled in marijuana treatment programs have been using the drug for at least 10 years and it could be possible that they must have tried to quit using the drug several times.

It is reported that in the year 2010 about 353,000 people were admitted to treatment centers. Latest reports from January 2014 to January 2015 shows that the treatment centers received 3, 572 calls for synthetic marijuana and there were also reports of 15 deaths related to marijuana addiction. How is marijuana addiction treated?

The most common treatment of marijuana addiction is therapy.

An analysis in the journal Addiction Science and Clinical Practice says, “Therapy can also provide problem-solving skills and lifestyle management, so people can learn how to build a satisfying life that doesn’t need augmentation with drugs. As a relapse skill, therapists might also provide lessons on drug refusal, so people know just what to say and how to react when they’re offered a hit of weed.”

Treatment for addiction may also include counseling which will help the person to cope with other coexisting addictions and psychiatric problems too. That is really important when it comes to Inpatient Marijuana Rehab Centers Santee CA 92072.

Find Sober Friends. You cannot keep spending time with the people you used to drink or use drugs with. No matter how much they may say that they support you in your sobriety, the fact is that they do not. Some may be paying lip service to this, but even those who really do think it is a good thing that you have gotten sober do not really support it, because by the fact of their own continued substance abuse they are essentially headed in the opposite direction from the one you have chosen for yourself. Furthermore, even if your time with these people does not include times when they are getting high or drunk, there is a chance that being around these people will have a tendency to restimulate your own memories and make you experience cravings. No amount of sentimentality is worth your sobriety, your health and happiness in the years ahead.

Write yourself a letter. Before you decide to go through your alcohol withdrawal, it’s a good idea to write yourself a letter and keep it nearby for quick reference. The content of the letter should be encouraging and it should remind you why you are going through the pain of detox in the first place. When you are feeling tempted, pull the letter out and read it to yourself. It’s even helpful to read it out loud as this has been shown to help you retain the information more effectively. Read it as many times as you need during the process.

Limit Negative Influences – Both adolescents and adults are heavily influenced by their peers and their desire to fit in. Associating with people who abuse drugs or alcohol or who have accepting attitudes toward substance abuse increases the likelihood of drug abuse.

Use the techniques you learned in treatment. You will have learned skills for dealing with peer pressure and triggers while you were in treatment. Use these and any other skills you learned to help you when you end up in situations that are tempting. You have practiced, and now you need to do what is best for you. If you feel that you need more help with coping, call us or your aftercare counselor. Rehab is not a quick fix because recovery takes time. Seeking and being dedicated to aftercare therapy is one of the best things you can do to remain clean. Talking to family and developing a support system will also help with your journey. No single suggestion can insure you will always stay clean, but an individualized mix of the suggestions plus what you have learned from treatment can give you valuable tools for a great life.

Take One Day at a Time! – If you are becoming so frustrated that you’re feeling like you just want to have some more alcohol or that one last taste of drugs, stop before you get there! Take a deep breath and realize that your recovery will only go one day at a time! Many people have to force themselves to take one minute, hour, and day at a time simply to keep their heads above water!

Ask your doctor questions. While some doctors may be pressed for time and rushing to their next appointment, it’s important to ask as many questions as possible while you have a captive audience. The more you ask and the more details you share, the closer you’ll be to finding a treatment plan that really works for you.

The drug user has to want to change. No one can force them to stop using drugs. Even if they do stop using ‘for someone else’ there is a high likelihood that they will begin using again.

Take yoga. Many people say they feel peaceful and relaxed much like they did after smoking week when they do yoga. Try it. See if you feel the same way.

There is hope, maintain a positive attitude. Despite all of the stigma associated with addiction, you will be happy to know that addiction is not a life sentence and you can get free from its deadly grasps anytime you want. Look forward for the future and sail on with determination.

Get support for yourself from others who understand. Your family and friends may be well-meaning in their efforts to support you through this ordeal. Their intent is to comfort or help but unless they’ve been directly affected by loving a heroin addict – they can’t possibly understand what you are going through. I highly recommend talking to people who walked the path ahead of you.

Keep a Record. One definition of suffering is doing the same thing over and over again, each time expecting different results. It’s so easy to see this pattern in others: “Katherine, for God’s sake, Barbie doesn’t fit down in the drain (it’s not a water slide)” or the alcoholic who swears she will be able to control her drinking once she finds the right job. But I can be so blind to my own attempts at disguising self-destructive behavior in a web of lies and rationalizations. That’s why, when I’m in enough pain, I write everything down–so I can read for myself exactly how I felt after I had lunch with the person who likes to beat me up as a hobby, or after eight weeks of a Marlboro binge, or after two weeks on a Hershey-Starbucks diet. Maybe it’s the journalist in me, but the case for breaking a certain addiction, or stopping a behavior contributing to depression, is much stronger once you can read the evidence provided from the past.

Meditate. Like deep breathing, meditation can help you stay balanced and relaxed during your withdrawal period. At times, it’s easy to forget why you entered recovery in the first place. Meditation can help clear your mind in order to focus on what really matters. It pulls you out of a reactive state of mind and into a proactive state.

Pack Appropriately. You’re going to make things easier on yourself your first day of marijuana rehab if you aren’t trying to smuggle in contraband items. Instead, pay attention to what is allowed and maximize the personal items you can bring so that you are as comfortable as possible during treatment.

Keep yourself Preoccupied – Many recovering addicts often find it hard not to go back to their old lifestyles, but the one thing that can help greatly is to keep yourself preoccupied. Getting a hobby, surrounding yourself with positive friends each day, and filling your day to keep you busy in order to be preoccupied will prevent you from destructive behavior.

Bring a Journal. Marijuana rehab is a huge time for you. You are completely changing your life, its direction, your purpose, how you think about and do everything. Even if it’s a basic spiral notebook and blue ink pen, keeping a journal will help you work through some of the (often conflicting) thoughts and feelings you will experience during addiction treatment.
