Inpatient Marijuana Rehab Centers Sierraville CA 96126: Tips to find the most adequate centers in the US
Marijuana is considered to be the most illicit drug used in the United States of America, according to National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). NIDA also reported that approximately 9 per cent of people who regularly abuse marijuana will gradually get addicted to the drug. Teenagers are very much prone to Marijuana addiction. In teens the risk of addiction rises to 17 percent and it rises to 25-50 percent for those who abuse marijuana regularly. That is important when it comes to finding the best Marijuana Addiction Rehab Centers.
The US Department of Health and Human Services states that one in every 11 marijuana users will become addicted.
Marijuana consists of THC, which is a mind altering ingredient. When one abuses marijuana, the THC enters the bloodstream and targets the brain. Certain brain cells that influence memory, coordination, thought process, sensory perception are targeted.
According to the Office of Alcohol and Drug Education, “addiction is likely both physical and psychological. When physically addicted, your body craves the drug. When psychologically addicted, you consciously desire the drug’s effects.’’
Symptoms of marijuana addiction are similar to any other drug addiction.
- Deep craving for marijuana which can even disturb their sleep
- Tolerance for the drug
- Disengagement from friends and family
- Withdrawal symptoms
Who requires a treatment?
People who get enrolled in marijuana treatment programs have been using the drug for at least 10 years and it could be possible that they must have tried to quit using the drug several times.
It is reported that in the year 2010 about 353,000 people were admitted to treatment centers. Latest reports from January 2014 to January 2015 shows that the treatment centers received 3, 572 calls for synthetic marijuana and there were also reports of 15 deaths related to marijuana addiction. (Resources used for the statistics – www.whitehouse.gov; www.cdc.gov; www.drugabuse.gov)
How is marijuana addiction treated?
The most common treatment of marijuana addiction is therapy.
An analysis in the journal Addiction Science and Clinical Practice says, “Therapy can also provide problem-solving skills and lifestyle management, so people can learn how to build a satisfying life that doesn’t need augmentation with drugs. As a relapse skill, therapists might also provide lessons on drug refusal, so people know just what to say and how to react when they’re offered a hit of weed.”
Treatment for addiction may also include counseling which will help the person to cope with other coexisting addictions and psychiatric problems too. That is really important when it comes to Inpatient Marijuana Rehab Centers Sierraville CA 96126.

Find Sober Friends. You cannot keep spending time with the people you used to drink or use drugs with. No matter how much they may say that they support you in your sobriety, the fact is that they do not. Some may be paying lip service to this, but even those who really do think it is a good thing that you have gotten sober do not really support it, because by the fact of their own continued substance abuse they are essentially headed in the opposite direction from the one you have chosen for yourself. Furthermore, even if your time with these people does not include times when they are getting high or drunk, there is a chance that being around these people will have a tendency to restimulate your own memories and make you experience cravings. No amount of sentimentality is worth your sobriety, your health and happiness in the years ahead.
Optimism and gratitude. These qualities have to do with being able to roll with the punches and cope with the ups and downs that life and recovery will certainly dole out. Happy people manage to find opportunities, even in difficult or negative situations. They may mourn and grieve losses, but they don’t lose hope or predict negative outcomes. Studies indicate that optimistic thinking can help people feel better mentally, emotionally and physically. If you work on integrating these seven principles into your life, as you continue to work your program, you just may find that relapse prevention is a positive and fun part of being sober.
Get medical assistance if you are progressing toward Delirium Tremens. Delirium Tremens is a serious condition that some people coping with alcohol withdrawal go through. It is characterized by severe nausea, seizures, and hallucination. If you begin to experience DTs, you need to get immediate medical attention as it can be life threatening.
Strongly consider consulting with an experienced intervention specialist. These professionals can help you better understand the intervention process and set up suitable treatment for an alcoholic.
Remember why you are there. It’s easy to forget why you came to rehab when you’re feeling bad, physically or mentally. Stay focused on the reasons you need sobriety when you feel like giving up.
Early detection. The sooner you are aware of your addiction, the easier it is for you to get rid of this debilitating condition. People who consume drugs and alcohol, as well as engaging in problem behaviour on a regular basis, have higher percentage rate to develop addiction. If your involvement with substances and problem activities leans towards this, take heed on signs and symptoms of addiction.
There’s a two-sided irony operating in these situations. First, family and friends of an opiate addict play a part in enabling the addict’s behavior to continue, though their intentions are otherwise. Second, despite valid fears regarding an opiate addict’s welfare, the actions of family and friends do little to minimize the risks associated with opiate addiction. I would, in fact, argue that they put an active opiate addict at an increased risk of death and incarceration.
Family and friends who work with qualified professionals and support groups have a better chance of staying the course when it comes to refusing to participate in negative enabling. You can find meetings of Al-Anon family groups here, and search for licensed addiction therapists in your local area here. I have also added a list of helpful educational resources at the end of this article.
The new wave of support – blogging communities. What has helped me the most is a blogging community of other parents. It developed spontaneously and is nothing “official”, we are a group of parents who randomly found each other via blogs. I’ve learned more from them, and gained more support from them, than any other source. We may not always agree with each other, but hearing their stories and words of wisdom has been invaluable. Please feel free to visit my blog, Recovery Happens, and join in the conversation there. (I have a list of blogs that will connect you with this great group of people from all over the country.) You need to take care of yourself during this time; your own heath and well being are at stake.
Remember to forgive yourself. Every single person in recovery, those newly recovered and those who’ve been clean and sober for many years, has gone through some things that have required them to forgive themselves. If they didn’t come to this easily, it was something they learned they needed to do as part of the Twelve Steps. The truth is that none of us makes much progress in recovery if we cannot forgive ourselves. This doesn’t mean abdicating responsibility or owning up to what we may have done that has harmed others. It does mean that we acknowledge what we’ve done, make amends wherever possible, and give ourselves permission to move forward in recovery. It’s also important to recognize that everyone makes mistakes, and mistakes do not make us bad people.
Get out and exercise – spending 30-60 minutes walking or at the gym will just a few days a week will do wonders for you. Exercise will not only boost your physical strength, it will boost your mental health as well.
Get on Your Knees. This would be the addiction-virgin’s first point, not the eleventh, and it would be followed by instructions on how to pray the rosary or say the Stations of the Cross. But I think that the true addict or depressive need only utter a variation of these two simple prayers: “Help!” and “Take the bloody thing from me, now!”. Do Nothing. If you do nada, that means you’re not getting worse, and that is perfectly acceptable most days. After all, tomorrow is another day.
Plan Ahead – Once a person has a solid grasp of their triggers, they can act accordingly. This might be as simple as taking a different route home from work in an effort to avoid passing a place where drugs and alcohol are used. If you must attend a function, such as a wedding where you know alcohol will be served, create a mocktail recipe and share it with the bartender so you won’t feel out of place.
Make your recovery a priority – put yourself first and stay in touch with trained professionals who know you and can provide you with comprehensive treatment options and sound advice throughout your recovery.
