Inpatient Marijuana Rehab Centers Villa Park CA 92861: Tips to find the most adequate centers in the US

Marijuana is considered to be the most illicit drug used in the United States of America, according to National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). NIDA also reported that approximately 9 per cent of people who regularly abuse marijuana will gradually get addicted to the drug. Teenagers are very much prone to Marijuana addiction. In teens the risk of addiction rises to 17 percent and it rises to 25-50 percent for those who abuse marijuana regularly. That is important when it comes to finding the best Marijuana Addiction Rehab Centers.

The US Department of Health and Human Services states that one in every 11 marijuana users will become addicted.

Marijuana consists of THC, which is a mind altering ingredient. When one abuses marijuana, the THC enters the bloodstream and targets the brain. Certain brain cells that influence memory, coordination, thought process, sensory perception are targeted.

According to the Office of Alcohol and Drug Education, “addiction is likely both physical and psychological. When physically addicted, your body craves the drug. When psychologically addicted, you consciously desire the drug’s effects.’’

Symptoms of marijuana addiction are similar to any other drug addiction.

They are:

  • Irritability
  • Restlessness
  • Deep craving for marijuana which can even disturb their sleep
  • Tolerance for the drug
  • Disengagement from friends and family
  • Withdrawal symptoms

Who requires a treatment?

People who get enrolled in marijuana treatment programs have been using the drug for at least 10 years and it could be possible that they must have tried to quit using the drug several times.

It is reported that in the year 2010 about 353,000 people were admitted to treatment centers. Latest reports from January 2014 to January 2015 shows that the treatment centers received 3, 572 calls for synthetic marijuana and there were also reports of 15 deaths related to marijuana addiction. How is marijuana addiction treated?

The most common treatment of marijuana addiction is therapy.

An analysis in the journal Addiction Science and Clinical Practice says, “Therapy can also provide problem-solving skills and lifestyle management, so people can learn how to build a satisfying life that doesn’t need augmentation with drugs. As a relapse skill, therapists might also provide lessons on drug refusal, so people know just what to say and how to react when they’re offered a hit of weed.”

Treatment for addiction may also include counseling which will help the person to cope with other coexisting addictions and psychiatric problems too. That is really important when it comes to Inpatient Marijuana Rehab Centers Villa Park CA 92861.

Avoid making comparisons. Each person’s struggle with addiction is unique. Although your situation may be similar to someone else’s, everyone heals at their own pace.

If your loved one suffers from opiate addiction, there is very real risk of incarceration, overdose or death. You should know this. Unfortunately, this is the nature of opiate addiction. Many addicts travel too far across addiction’s bleak bridge into the confines of jail, or even worse, death. It does not matter whether an opiate addict hails from a healthy or unhealthy background. Once addiction takes hold, the risks are present. The risks of incarceration, overdose and/or death increase as addiction progresses. Many family and friends are unaware of the four stages of addiction. Each of the stages presents certain characteristics.

Stay active and keep involved in healthy interests. There’s a lot to be said about being physically active and involved in healthy pursuits and interests. Whether it’s engaging in vigorous physical activity, playing sports or getting involved in recreational activities, active people are generally happier people. When we’re active, we’re naturally boosting our endorphins, nature’s own feel-good chemical. When we feel good, our levels of self-esteem tend to rise. Being active is also something for us to look forward to, and to share with our friends and loved ones.

Strongly consider consulting with an experienced intervention specialist. These professionals can help you better understand the intervention process and set up suitable treatment for an alcoholic.

Prepare for good days and bad days. You’ll have ups and downs in rehab. That’s life, and it’s certainly the beginning of sobriety. Some days may feel absolutely unbearable—like the worst days you’ve ever had. But other days will feel good or at least better, and you’ll see progress.

Find out how often your appointments are. Ask the staff for an appointment to meet with the therapist and remind them until your first appointment. Then speak to the therapist about how often you can expect to see them so you can be prepared to discuss important topics one-on-one.

Do some advance preparation for therapy. Jot down some topics. Make notes of topics and situations that cause you anxiety, anger, depression, fear or make it difficult for you to live sober. This way, you’ll know what you want to discuss, and you can make the best use of your time with the therapist and other rehab professionals.

Ask Questions. Marijuana rehab is not a passive experience. You are not expected to clone yourself and simply absorb the dictates of the rehab regime. Those who get the most out of marijuana rehab ask questions. Ask questions before you choose the right marijuana addiction treatment for you. Ask questions during your intake appointment about what to expect. Ask questions of your therapist, in group session, in classes. Asking questions is the only way to learn and grow in your recovery.

Change your environment – one of the best ways to maintain a healthy recovery is to replace your bad habits with healthy, new ones. Surround yourself with positive people, things and experiences. Search out cultural events and activities in your area that can stimulate your body and mind in a new, exciting – and healthy way.

Not everything has to happen immediately, so give yourself a break. What, exactly, do we mean by this? Simply put, we are probably harder on ourselves than others are, in that we expect too much, too soon. When we’ve just come out of drug rehab, we’re still pretty raw, still smarting, if you will, from all that we’ve gone through. After all, getting clean and sober is quite an accomplishment in and of itself, not to mention how we’re trying to approach this new life of sobriety post-treatment.

Accept The Urge – Rather than fight the intense craving to drink or use drugs, accept the urge and ride it out. This overwhelming feeling to drink won’t kill you and given enough time, it will subside. Many urges will disappear in 10 to 15 minutes. If they do not, remove yourself from the situation you’re in which could possibly be triggering your urges. In the past, you may have had a drink to cover up emotional or physical discomforts but now is the time to work through them and understand that discomforts in life are inevitable and are perfectly okay.

The Magic Year. I didn’t like the cliché, “One day at a time.” I rewrote it. I concentrated on being clean for 12 months. Nothing else mattered; whatever happened daily was irrelevant. But how could I go 12 months? I tricked myself into trying it for 12 months, believing if I didn’t like how my life had turned around, I could always go back.

Reformulate your statements into hopeful ones. We all have a certain way we talk to ourselves. Some of us refer to it as our inner voice, while others say it’s how they talk to themselves inside. Whatever you call it, try turning negative self-talk into positive, hopeful statements. If something you’re about to attempt or go through has proven tough in the past, or you feel that it will be difficult, tell yourself something along these lines: “I know it might be tough, but I also know I can handle it.” Giving yourself this mental pep talk can do wonders for how you’ll approach and handle the situation.

Avoid your drinking buddies. One of the most important things to do when beating alcohol withdrawal is distance yourself away from enablers and any drinking advocates that are in your life. These are the people that don’t want you to get sober. They often will minimize your addiction by telling you it’s not that big of a deal. They may even try to offer you alcohol during your detox. It’s best to simply cut these people out of your life during this time.

Goals, hobbies and flow. Find an activity that you can dive into with both feet. For some, this may be a creative outlet, like pottery, needlework or art. For others it may be an activity, like riding a horse or bicycle. Whatever it is, it should be something that challenges you—something you can work at and seek to master. It should be something that when you do it, you can get into the groove and experience the joy of “flow.” Flow is best understood as that sense that you’ve totally lost track of time and even a sense of yourself. With pottery, it’s like the universe has shrunk down to the clay, the wheel and your hands. Time evaporates, and you are totally in the moment. Afterward, you may feel joyful, relaxed or exhilarated, and you’ll likely be amazed at how much time went by. Experiencing flow is a core component of happiness.
